Printable Password Game Cards: A 24-Card Starter Deck
Print this answer-only deck, cut out the cards, and give one secret word to the clue-givers at a time. The separate host key offers optional clues; it is not printed on the card faces. These are original cards for an independent Password-style game.
Prepare the deck in five minutes
The clue key below stays on screen when you print the card sheet. If you want a separate host reference, copy its pairs into your own notes. No account is required to use this page.
- Use the Print card sheet button, or your browser’s Print command. The print layout includes the 24 word cards only. Choose portrait orientation and check the preview before printing on Letter or A4 paper.
- Cut along the card borders. Plain paper works; fold it or use an opaque backing if the word shows through.
- Shuffle the cards face down. Keep eight for a short first round and the rest as spares or later rounds.
- Seat guessers opposite the clue-givers. Show a card only to the clue-givers; never place the answer face up in the middle of the table.
How to play with these cards
For four people, make two teams with one clue-giver and one guesser each. Both clue-givers see the same card. Team A gives one spoken word and gets one guess. If they miss, Team B gives a different clue and gets a guess. Continue alternating, then swap roles for the next card.
Use a one-point score for each solved card if playing on paper. Agree on a pass limit, such as four total clues, so one awkward word does not consume the whole round. This is a suggested paper-game format; PlayPassword Classic uses its own decreasing point score.
Host clue key
These are possible associations, not mandatory answers for the clue-giver. Allow another legal clue when it fits your group. Do not read the key aloud before play.

Make the deck fair for your group
Before play, remove words a guesser is unlikely to know. A child who has never seen a compass is being tested on experience rather than clue-solving. Substitute a familiar object and tell both clue-givers the replacement privately.
If the first round is too difficult, preview a small word bank before hiding it, then use those cards. For a harder round, forbid the example clue after the group has already used it once. Announce that house rule before the round, not after a successful guess.
Avoid clues containing the answer or part of it: “Teacup” gives away part of “Teapot.” A clue can be legal but vague; “Object” will rarely help. Acceptable clue types should be agreed by everyone.
Move the same deck into a browser game
Sign in to PlayPassword, create a game, and manually enter the card words as secret passwords. Choose Classic for player-created clues or Host Mode when you want to prepare clues. The card page does not automatically import or save the deck.
Try the public sample before setting up your own round. Creating and saving games requires sign-in, and available features depend on the current plan.
