Choose one of three ten-word sets and run an external one-minute paper challenge. Clear pass rules, legal hints and a worked score keep the fast format fair.

Three ten-word lightning sets
Cards 1–10, 11–20 and 21–30 are short familiar-word sets. Use an external one-minute timer for one selected set. The first person gives one-word clues while the partner guesses; switch roles and use a fresh set next time. This is an optional host-managed paper challenge, not a special native mode.
Say pass when stuck, put that card aside and return only if time remains. After a guess, move to the next card; do not show the answer to the guesser mid-turn. If a clue uses the answer or a part, skip that card with no score. Stop when the minute ends; no late guesses count.
- Keep secret-word cards behind the clue-giver’s view and the host key off the shared screen.
- Use one point for each correctly solved card; misses and passes score zero. Example: seven solved, two passed and one unfinished scores 7. This differs from Classic’s 10 then 9 then 8 declining word values.
- Give each team an equally difficult fresh set and the same minute. Shared top totals are ties; use another fresh equally sized set only if everyone wants a tiebreak.
- If using PlayPassword as a display, enter the words manually; track this external timer/pass/house-score format separately.
30 words and optional legal clues
This is the private host planning table. Keep it off the guessers’ display; the answer-free player clue cards in the general picker are for prepared-clue play.
