Date Night Password: Words for Two Couples, Plus a Cooperative Two-Player Version

Use twenty-four shared-experience words for two couples, or choose the separate cooperative two-person paper variant. Personal memories and finances are never required answers.

Playable words and hosting plan

Two couples, four players

Make two teams of two. Choose eight words from the 24 shared-experience cards, then rotate giver and guesser after every word. A meal, journal or trip is only an association; this is not a test of how well partners know each other. Pass on any topic without explanation.

Use normal alternating attempts and one-point paper scores. Mix the teams if preferred. Avoid private memories as required answers: all defaults are familiar public words with complete clues.

  1. Preview possible meanings such as Train or Memory before hiding the bank.
  2. Show each secret card only to the two clue-givers; allow one clue and one guess.
  3. After four misses, pass and move on. Equal final scores share the win.

Optional cooperative version for two people

This is a paper variation, not a two-person competitive app mode. One person gives clues for four cards while the other guesses, then swap for four fresh cards. Use up to three one-word clues per card and pass freely. Count solved cards together out of eight; aim to improve on a later set rather than compete against a partner. No app leaderboard or Classic declining points are implied.

24 words and optional legal clues

This is the private host planning table. Keep it off the guessers’ display; the answer-free player clue cards in the general picker are for prepared-clue play.
